Greetings Artsy People!

I am sharing pictures of my paintings in hopes of having exhibitions at art centers and galleries in southern Minnesota, also to share with family and friends.
My first Angel Exhibit will be at the Red Rock Art Center in Fairmont, March 7 - April 3, 2020
Some of my paintings are currently on display at The Becki Steier Studio in Blue Earth and the Rainbow Food Co-op in Blue Earth.
I am looking for new venues! All my paintings are ready for hanging and display, the acrylic paintings are unframed with painted edges, and the watercolors are all framed. The largest paintings are 2'x4', the smallest are 5"x7".
Please contact me if interested. I am willing to do workshops and painting classes along with my exhibits. Selling my artwork is another goal, but not the primary goal.
All of my paintings are completely original.

First are some of my Angel of the Seven Trumpets paintings from Revelations.

Linda Wells Artist Statement

I live in Blue Earth, MN with my husband Craig and dog Gunnar. I graduated from Mankato State University in 1994 with a BS in Art Education, and in 2006 with a Master’s Degree in Art. I taught high school art full time at Blue Earth Area Schools for 23 years, and now I am retired.

Watercolors was my favored medium when young. In college I concentrated on sculpture and ceramics. After teaching art for 15 years, I returned to MSU. The Masters Exhibit I produced was a series of organic sculptures of welded steel rods and mixed media. It was displayed at the Conking Gallery at MSU
Mankato in November of 2006 and at the Red Rock Art Center the next month.

Retiring allowed me to have the time I needed to return to artistic creation. I knew that watercolors would work for me but it took time to decide on the subject matter. I found inspiration in a series of classroom demo paintings I had made on symmetry and geometric shapes. These demonstrations had been started and never finished. They unintentionally turned out looking like angels, which felt right, so I pursued that idea. I finished four demo paintings and made more. Then I spent some time studying the Books of Revelations for more inspiration.

An Angel Retrospective Series

Next I decided to bring to life the angels from the Bible and the book of Revelations. After completing a series of watercolors, I turned to acrylics. More realistic figures appeared and amazed me!  The shapes of angels persist. I feel I have more to complete. I wish to share my paintings with others, and hope people will see pleasing shapes and colors as well as a unique version of angels. I believe that beauty in art can lift our spirits, calm, inspire, and bring us closer to our Maker.
